clause:is agroup of words that have both subject and verb.هى جملة تحتوي على الفعل والفاعل
clause has two types independent&dependent.يوجد نوعان من هذه الجملة وهما الجملة تامة المعنى والجملة ناقصة المعنى.
independent clause:can stand alon and express acomplete thought.هى جملة مستقلة تعبر عن فكرة كاملة
example:my father is reading abook.
notice:we use coorrdinating conjunction to link two independent clauses.نستخدم روابط العطف أو النّسق لربط جملتين مستقلتين
coordinating conjunctions:is(and,or,but.....)
dependent clause :cannot stand alone and dose not express a complete thought.هى جملة غير قائمة بذاتها ولا تعبر عن فكرة كاملة.
example:after jim stuided in the liabrary for his chemistry quiz.

phrase:is agroup of words dose not include subject and verb and has many types we will talk about them with examples.لا تحتوي شبه الجملة على فاعل أو فعل ولها أنواع كثيرة سنتحدث عنها بالأمثلة
example:the driver in the car.it is aprepostional phrase.شبه جملة ذات حرف جر.
differents between clause&phrase:
clause:
- has verb and subject.
- has verb and predicate الخبر.
- complete sentence.
- has two types we mentioned befor
phrase:
- does not have verb nor subject.
- does not have verb nor predicate.
- it is not acomplete sentence.
- has many types ,we will mention them at the next lesson.
